A Parent's Guide To Concerts: Tumblr Explained for... →
parentsguidetoconcerts:
I was trying to explain to some folks at work on Friday about why Tumblr is so much fun. While the demographic skews young, I think it’s a fun tool even for grown-ups and there are plenty of topics to follow around art, politics, history and music. Despite its reputation, Tumblr isn’t all cats,…

parentsguidetoconcerts:
The Who* are going to be touring the US this fall and winter, performing Quadrophenia in its entirety, plus a set of additional Who songs. If this is half as good as Roger Daltrey’s performance of Tommy last year, it will be wondrous.
Here is why this is a great bonding opportunity with your family:
Quadrophenia is one of the best rock albums of all time. Your kids...

I know it’s usually politics, but I thought this was pretty cool. On Monday, American Airlines flight 3675 from LAX to Denver was cancelled. Why do I know this? Because I dropped a friend off for that flight, and when it cancelled, somebody had to pick the dude up.
Before that happened, he was…

How To Delete Your Chrome Cookies
Sometimes if your browser seems really slow or you are having odd problems with specific sites, you just need to delete your cookies. Last night we saw fireworks…
Accompanied by the San Francisco Symphony…
On the very same stage where Slayer played just a few nights before, with much different decor.
If you get a chance to take your kids to a symphony — even one where they play The Theme From Rocky, Chariots Of Fire and PDQ Bach. It will grow their appreciation of music. And, if you’ve done...

Paramore In The Studio: Oh glory. →
paramore:
When I was 17, I started writing lyrics to a song that would later be called “Let The Flames Begin”. It was on our sophomore album, RIOT! I never felt like it really sounded as meaningful on record as it seemed when we played it live. Over the years, we added on and added on to it. Not only is it…

Warped Is Really Great For Dads This Year →
parentsguidetoconcerts:
I had a great time with some other parents at Warped. Basically our kids were sometimes watching the music with us, and often not, but that’s fine — there is lots to do.
Keep in mind that it can be hot and crowded, but go into it with the right state of mind and you will have a wonderful time.
I went two consecutive days: One in San Francisco and the next in Ventura,...
